Greetings< Trying the harley carb on my 600. Is the fuel pressure to high off the pump? Fuel pours out? Any ideas?
Thanks,

Re: Harley carb
Hi, We used these carbs on our sons Jr Dragster (33mm,40mm and 42mm) and saw many needles not seat properly. Make sure the seat is clean and if in doubt replace the needle and seat. Which of the Harley carbs is it? Before we got of racing I was thinking of trying the 33mm carb on my 600.

Re: Harley carb
I too have been looking for an alternative to the Honda 600 carbs. Even looking into small engine diaphragm carbs with constant flow coupled to a custom intake manifold. But here again, there are complications and costs.
While original Honda carbs are still repairable and work well costing far less than custom ideas.
As to the Harley carb, as Mike said it sounds like a needle valve problem allowing the fuel to keep coming in even when the floats are maxed out.

Re: Harley carb
I have used the HD carb with great sucess. You need to get the carb as level to the world as possible
Re: Harley carb
When I feed the carb off a "nurse tank" it runs great. It is a 40mm harley CV carb that I can use the even cruise control linkage on. I will get it flat as possible and start there.
Thanks to all!
Thanks to all!

Re: Harley carb
yep, same thing I used -- I modified the throttle cable bracket just slightly, and had to grind the choke cable ball to be a bit smaller. then made a short adapter from 3/4 inch exhaust to attach carb to the stock intake. I was then able to use the stock air cleaner box. Mine all looked factory when done.
Re: Harley carb
leveling the carb worked on the overflow problem! Now just adjusting idle and fuel mixture. Is anybody using premium fuel?
Thanks for help...
