carburator
My car doesn't like the choke. If I use it, after it's warmed up and I push it in it runs terrible so I don't use it. Without it, the car stalls all the time until I drive it several miles and it's a pain to coordinate the brake and gas to keep the rpms up to keep it running. Once it warms up it can idle nice and slow and runs great. However, when I drive it on the freeway and come to the exit, it will stall. What's the scoup?

Re: carburator
Take a look at your carb.... you should see a linkage which goes between the choke cam and the throttle.
As you turn on the choke, you should see the throttle being opened for a faster idle speed.
Looking at your question....I don't quite understand your problem.
When it is warmed up you indicate it idles at the proper speed with the choke off....is this correct? When the engine is cold, as you pull out the choke, the idle speed should increase. Are you seeing the idle speed increase when you pull out the choke when the engine is cold? If not, check the linkage I mentioned above.
good luck,
Dale

Re: carburator
I'm probably the biggest dummy on this forum but for what it might be worth, that is pretty much the way mine acted until I finally got an idle solenoid replaced. Now it does good.
