Two issues here;
    1 - If you rebore your cylinders make them as straight as you can, making them taper only causes the rings to move to much which will cause them to wear out prematurly.
    2 - Fit the pistons into the cylinders first (with the inside wrist pin retainer in place on both pistons) then lower the cylinder with the pistions just showing the wirst pin openings.  Measure the distance from the case to the rod opening and use two vice grips to hold the cylinders at that height while you fit the wrist pins.  If your shaking a bit put some cloth over the case openings to keep the retainers from falling into the case.  It's a whole bunch easier then taking the chance of breaking a ring.
