What would the weight be?
Would you like to know what a Honda 600 Coupe or Sedan hood weighs?

Hi all,
my apologies for posting Sundance to our Supercar web, its just that weight reduction has long been my mantra for gas mileage. My old 600 weighed in at 1150 lbs, and this Sundance pegs the needle at about 3100 lbs so a fiberglass hood would be a small part of the Dodge package but on a 600 every pound counts. As Mark says, every part on the car is smaller and weighs less so the total weight is less. As you can see, the Detroit drags an extra ton with it to the store and down the street on every drive.
But changing the hood is just the beginning. Once the move is made, drivers will want plastic doors, trunk, fenders and roof to save weight. What are the weights of the other 600's in our club? -And the gas mileages? I could never break 50mpg.
Marshall PS- My brother says the easiest weight loss would be to replace the hatchback on my car. My idea is to remove the doors and hatch and hood, then replace it all with cardboard. (And drill holes in the body metal? Maybe.)
