Attached is a picture of a stroked 1200cc Civic motor with a 5-speed tranny
in my 71 AN600. I just got it back from the shop a few days ago. It has a
ways to go before it's even running/driving but I wanted to share the
progress with you all!

Re: 4 Banger in an N600? IT CAN BE DONE!
Well.... All I can tell so far is my plans. The motor is in place but the
tranny is a hollow "dummy tranny" just used for placement. I'll be pulling
the motor back out and finishing the engine compartment as far as mechanics
and cosmetics. Then fishing the exterior body work. I plan to take off the
stock rear lights (all of them) and replace them with flush mounted LED
lights. Replace all the seals (Bill I'll be contacting you soon!), and minor
body repairs. I'll be painting it a deep emerald metallic green and adding
an eletric sliding ragtop. I'm not sure what I'll be doing with the
suspension just yet.... I already have another set of seats to recover and
put in, and I have a fiberglass aftermarket dash and center console from a
Super Beetle on it's way. It's the same width as the 600 dash and I can put
whatever guages in how I want by cutting holes where I want.
The engine however is a big jump from the stock motor. 12.5/1 compression,
larger cam, ported head, balanced/blue printed, lightened flywheel, etc...
That with a 5-speed tranny should make for a nice "sleeper 600". If anyone
knows a good source for wheels, I'm need some NICE 10"ers. I don't want to
go bigger. The 10" wheels keep the car special.
So those are my major plans, and I WILL stick to them. I'm really excited to
have this car and be on my way to a sweet ride!
