Honda 600 Coupe starter electric

Post by Chuck Dean »

Hello everyone, Sunday the starter on my coupe continued to run after I shut off the ignition switch. I assume this is a bad solinoid and ordered a new one from Honda Parts.
Is there a starter relay I should also look at, or is it included inn the solinoid / magnetic switch?
Thanks, Chuck  (mobile) Pleez x cuze enny tie ping or spelin air ores.

The fault could be with your ignition switch.

Yes, it's a combined relay/solenoid.  However, pull the starter remove the solenoid and check the return spring.  If that's ok, look at the bendix gear teeth closely.  If it's chewed up, you may have a Datsun bendix. Lastly, does the solenoid sit on the top of the starter (12:00 position)?

Hello everyone,
Baby Blue is running like a top again.
It was the starter solinoid, as I expected.=
$68 To have the starter rebuilt. Not too bad. I supplied the Brushes, bushingsand solenoid. =M Chuck  (mobile) Pleez x cuze enny tie ping or spelin air ores.

I sell solenoids for $30 and it's the same as they sell. Back in the olden days Bruce bought one of everything I was selling so he could source the same items. That's why if you check my site then theirs you will see many of the same items.  https://600miles.com/shop?olsPage=produ ... 60-568-005

Yes, unfortunately I noticed that after I had already bought my solenoid, brushes, and bushings from Honda parts. I completely forgot that you sold parts, but now I have a link to your page, in my bookmarks, so I will check you out first next time.
You, and this list, have helped me out so much, I feel like I should pay back a little. It was also you, that sold  me my pinion bushings that corrected my steering error on my Honda when I first bought it for years ago.
Thanks for everything!
