A word of warning! Don't use a tumbler on any carburetors with small passages. They will be clogged with fine dirt from the cleaning process and not work as they should.
The ultrasonic works great. When left in long enough old fuel and corrosion solidified inside will be "shaken" loose and can be flushed out with carburetor spray cleaner.

Doesn't simple green oxidize aluminum?   Or is it safe to use in the ultrasonic?

Eric;
We used to boil our carb's on the stove with lemon Koolaid. The
solution varied but nothing as corrosive as some of the cleaners on the
shelf today. The boiling action in the pan caused most of the stuff on the
carb to come off and compressed air got the rest. Almost any solution will
be corrosive but the outside (body) of the carb had a bronze color to it
from the factory, which corroded off the carb over time. Eastwood products

nice carb renew product that gives your carb that OEM new look. These days I
use one of the dental root canal wire drills to open the passages and a can
of carb cleaner along with the stiff brush and compressed air.

I've never tried it. But i read a poplar science article years ago about
diy plating. Plastic container, filled with coca/cola, 12 volt battery,
one lead attached to part, one lead attached to aluminum foil, dip part
into coke and swab the part with the foil. Makes purple anodize. i forgot
what made gold anodize. maybe it's on you-tube.

Kool-Aid?  I would think that would leave a coating of sugar in tiny places that might not get rinsed thoroughly.  ---Bryan O

I think it would just be the flavoring without adding the sugar.
