I rechromed the emblems on the fenders and grill. I have seen pics of
the interior background of the grill emblem is also painted red. Is
that the only color honda used? Or did it depend on what the color of
the car was. Did the fender emblems receive the same treatment? Thanks
for the information.

Re: Emblems for sedan
On my N600 the background is also red and the “H” and “600” are filled in with white. Hope that helps.

Re: Emblems for sedan
The USA sold sedans had red back ground and white in the letters of
the grille emblem. The fender emblems were stainless with black
background, but if you look in the parts book, you could also get the
emblems with a blue background. You could also order the trunk emblem
that was made of aluminum foil instead of the molded plastic.
Cars sold in other countries had completely different emblems and I
had a set of fenders from a Canadian sedan that didn't have emblems
and I had a hood from my N360 that did not have to hump in it for the
carb clearance.

Re: Emblems for sedan
My sedan was repainted (prior to my getting it) and the fender emblems are off the car. I see the two holes for mounting, but had a question - what is the best way to reattach the fender emblems? Do the fenders have to come off and mount (bolt on) from behind? Looks llike that is the way per the parts manual. How about any adhesive? Any hints?

Re: Emblems for sedan
I used the barrel nuts.
Push into the mounting hole, push the emblem in place. Works real fine and lasts a long time.

Re: Emblem Retainers for sedan
The sedan emblem retainers slide into the hole then create a binding
action on the emblem studs. The retainers should still be available.
You don't have to take the fenders off.
I personally like to use a piece of small vacuum tubing to hold on
emblems. I started doing it 20 years ago on my S600's for the fender
& trunk emblems. It holds them on nicely and you can easily remove
them for detailing before a show. No wax build up on the emblems
either.

Re: Emblem Retainers for sedan
Miles;
I too have used the rubber tubing to hold emblems on. But, one - unless the emblem fits flush it will have a gap. two - the rubber will eventually crack and fall off. three - if you can't get your hand up there to put on a flat clip the same will be for the rubber hose.
Barrel nuts are the best, but they too will rust if not put in with some RTV around them before putting them in.
