Need a gas cap and other parts for a 1972 600 Sedan...
Hi Folks,
I've been away from the group for a bit. I've also rejoined with a
new user id.
I'd like to re-introduce myself briefly and then get down to
business. ;o)
I own a 1972 Honda 600 Sedan. It's in pretty good shape and a blast
to drive. Nobody ever looks at me when I drive my Jeep Cherokee!
I've owned the card for about a year and I've recently taken the
exhaust system apart and fixed it up. I also had to have the clutch
cover worked on by Miles, the group moderator. Now that it's back
together it shifts great, sounds much better, and the exhaust pipe
doesn't bump into every little imperfection on the road!
I live just just down the road from Miles. Yes, I know, lucky me!
Miles has been a huge help and I couldn't have gotten the car back on
the road without his supply of parts, machining, and knowlege. Thanks
Miles! ;o)
Anywho, the car does need a few things:
1) A gas cap.
2) The little rod that holds the gas cap door shut.
3) The rubber pieces that go around all of the windows, doors, side
view mirror, tail lights, etc.
4) A correct rear-view mirror.
5) The long flat plastic covers that run alongside the interior of
the vehicle at the bottom of the door openings.
6) A key for the antenna.
7) Correct sun visors.
8) The plastic vent covers, they're like little doors.
9) Correct muffler.
If you have any of this stuff for sale, and it's in very good to
excellent condition, let me know your asking price.
Thanks!

A 16 Penny nail works nice for the gas lid retainer! I'm gonna make
you a muffler as soon as bolt down my tubing bender. Not too many
people have ever seen an antenna key! Only used on the 1972 model. I
have a big box of visors, you will have to dig through them.
A gas cap from a Honda CT90 will fit but doesn't have the tabs that
stick up. Also a gas cap from a 1973 Civic will fit.

Hello again.
I stripped down a n600 today at a yard near my house the car was toast but got good motor and a bunch of other stuff.I found you some of the light gaskets ther not perfect but quit respectible and I got you one side vent it has a few spider cracks in it but it is not broken through anywhere.Very usable and it stays shut like it should. You can have this stuff if you want it .Just pay the actual shipping.

Thanks Miles!
I'm using one of the rods that comes from a bathroom sink that operates the drain plug. It fits, and doesn't look bad, but I was hoping to find the correct part.
I guess you don't have any of those in your garage? ;o)
I'l pop by this weekend and go through your visors.
I realized I need to replace the wiper blades. Are those still available at auto parts stores?

Hi Scott,
Thanks for checking on the cap and rod. I'm using the little rod that operates the drain on a bathroom sink. It looks nice, and it works, but I was hoping to find the real McCoy.
Let me know about the cap.
Miles says a cap from a Civic will work.
