There is a beautiful Coupe on eBay today. Does this car belong to a listmember? Lots of pictures, including one that shows chrome around the hatch window glass. On my Coupe, the glass looks like it was glued in with globs of silicone - it is doing the job but is plainly not "original". Even if I had the chrome parts, what kind of project is it to install the glass with them? Has anyone been through this process?
Thanks,
Steve
PS: I "inserted" this picture rather than "attach" it.
If it doesn't work I will try the other way...

Re: Coupe hatch chrome
Hi Steve;
Your window looks Good, and if they used silicone, (RTV) it will not last. I have used a product called Polybutylene, (3-M I.D. 62-5334-6002-5) a cord of sticky adhesive that is like a rope placed between the glass and the hatch itself. Honda had a seal with a "L" shaped chrome insert to the glass. As a unit it worked OK, not great Just OK. It too fell short of holding the glass in place for ever. I found a product that works as a seal, but needs to have Polybutylene used between he seal and the Hatch. With some caution and skill the Polybutylene can be used and look good. After the Glass man finished mine I used an enamel clear to cover the Polybutylene so dust would not stick to it causing it to look dirty. I have a FAX from a Honda 600 owner who's parts manual shows the seal, but was never able to get the part number. I will post the picture on the ANZ group site.
