Update on my 600 sedan.

Post by honda600js »

Hi everyone. My 600 sedan is stripped. All the interior is out.(except for the steering column so I can move it) Engine  out. All glass out. All moldings and trim off. Its just about ready for the body shop. Just have to get a fender I bought off e-bay and a hood. So far a nice hood is hard to come by. I have the engine 80% rebuilt the trans has all new bearings new syncrodes, New crank, bearings and seals, cylinders, pistons ,cylinder head, valves. I just have to get the rest together. I want to have the car together by fathers day next year. There is a big fathers day car show here in milwaukee and I want to show off the car there. I have never seen one there or anywhere around here so It will be intresting to see peoples reactions. I will send pics of my progress so far this weekend.
Does anyony know the best way to polish the trim and moldings that bolt to the side of the car.Any compounds that work better than others or techniques to really bring out the shine? Also does anyone remember David Doro from New Mexico / Utah? Well thanks everyone for all your help so far in my project. James

********I use a bench grinder with loose cotton 6" buff wheel. I like
red compound rouge, they also make a compound just for stainless. If
you aren't really careful the backside of the trim strips get caught
in the buffer and you may wished you had them professionally done at
a chrome shop! I do all my own polishing and have been doing so since
1970's starting in Junior High.

And that fender you bought on eBay is really crap, sure you want it?
A $3.00 fender is just a $3.00 fender, you will spend $150 getting it
fixed, the $49.99 fender is far superior.
