OK, so I want to buy a coupe. But, I can't justify the cost of a nice one. Here is an idea...
I have heard once or twice of 600's being displayed at Honda dealerships. I can only imagine the sales purposes for doing so; maybe a dealer wants to show their customers how far they have come technologically, maybe to show an ongoing commitment to gas economy, maybe just as a gimmick to attract attention. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge of the real marketing reasons for displaying a 1972 coupe or sedan at a dealership?
AND NOW for my hare-brained scheme...
If a collection of marketing concepts for displaying a 72 coupe or sedan can be assembled and "sold" to a dealership, would that dealership then be interested in RENTING a coupe or sedan for display? If so, for how much? $100 a week? $200? (maybe less than those stupid, massive helium balloon arches cost?)
OK, how wacked-out is this scheme? ("...but dear, I'm not buying a toy, I'm making a business investment...") (tee-hee).
