Re: Honda suspension Parts?

Marshall, in the mid 60's when this engine was being designed, it was very advanced. 45 years later it is pretty common technology, but is still being used. Metric pistons are so common now.
A piston is a pretty complex part, diameter is easy, but wrist pin offset, distance from the top to the pin and dome height are all variables.
I know Mike has found or made pistons that will work in our 600's.
But, off the shelf parts are always a good thing.
Check into it, but I can't believe it will work.
But it would be nice to buy something off the shelf for these cars....just once!

Dan, check out this site.
http://www.autopartsdeal.com
Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1974
Did a search from Bill's info.
I will be buying parts from Miles and Mike when I get to that part of the restoration.
Have to support those who tracked down the parts.
I don't care who sells the parts, a fair price is all I ask.

KYB GR2 shocks, pt.#343143, straight from the KYB website are in hand - or on car rather!
Searching by part number showed no results so I called HQ and finally found them listed for '71 Toyota Corolla Wagon.
Seem a little stiff but have yet to give them a test ride !?
One more Yokohama to mount and I'll be ready for the Labor Day car shows;)

Steve nice find.
$27 includes shipping!
That's gotta be the cheapest Honda part yet!
My stock ones are good, but I will order a set for backup.

Re: Honda suspension Parts?

Post by brad fenn »

Does anyone have the dimensions of the stock shocks--- extended length and collapsed length? I saw a sedan where he put front shocks off a mustang on it and they were too long. I think that would be the first thing you would need to know when trying to use shocks off something else. And does anybody give those dimensions with their new shocks?

Steve nice find.
$27 includes shipping!
That's gotta be the cheapest Honda part yet!
My stock ones are good, but I will order a set for backup.

Brake shoes and Pads?

Post by lyletrudell »

I found shoes at auto zone, but no front pads.
Do you have a source besides Civic pads that need to be modified?
