Hi Bill,
Netherlands and Holland are the same countries.
Perfectly correct is Netherlands, but if you are spaeking from Holland, you mean the.Netherlands.
There is a HONDAMATIC in Germany, too. Klaus Mann has the car, but he has no internet account.
Are there mor Hondamatic in europe?
Jochen from Germany

Re: z600 AUTOMATIC??????????????
hi you all
just some explanation about the hondamatic.
i just have rebuild a hondamatic engine a year ago for my fathers N600 hondamatic.
i believe there is a foto in the fotoalbum
there where 6 of them officialy sold in holland/nederland and
whe have 2 of them now the other one has been sold to claus mann.
i know somebody who has the engine of the 4 th one, and the other 2 i still haven't lokated.
the are verry rare here in europe also, the most of them are sold in france where you still can find some good examples.
the big problem is when you need parts for them because most of the parts are no longer avaibel from honda.
but the are verry strong and mostly brake down on the enigine side and not on the automatic side.
technicly it is totaly different from the civic hondamatic, because the N hondamatic shift by hydrolics 4 gears and he civic hondamatic is just has a hydrolic converter whit 3 steps.
ther are in japan officialy Z coupe sold whit hondamatic but the where all 360cc engines.
you could convert a Z coup to a hondamatic but you would need to mount the total front power train to the car because the subframe and all are different, and you need to fit the shift cabels,etc also.
when people need parts for N hondamatic
the can contact me, i have remade some parts that are no longer avaibel.
greatings from holland/nederland

Thanks Harry;
Your Coupe is on the site, but I don't remember getting a picture of your Hondamatic. Sure would like to put it up on the site. Also, what are the numbers on your cars?

Re: z600 AUTOMATIC??????????????
Now Now Marty;
Remember, he who has the most toys wins!
The Automatic Honda 600 is a very hard to find vehicle anywhere. With some research I have found that there were maybe 2500 or so made. Of these maybe 20 are left and only a hand full are running. Honda of America has one in running condition, Harry from the Netherlands has one and sold another, which are running examples. The two in England are not running. There are two in Australia that may be running but I have not heard from them in some time and I believe one was a 360. I heard of a Hondamatic in upper New York by Canada but it turned out to be a Civic or at least the gentlemen I spoke to said it was.
What this site and we as a group are about is to preserve the Honda 600 two cylinder car. Sedan, Coupe - standard or automatic, they are all included. To assist each other in keeping them running is a real chore, and I am afraid Honda is not getting involved. So we speak of what makes them go faster and who has or where are the rest of the parts. And stating that a Hondamatic is a lesser vehicle than a Honda standard is poor taste. Who brags about doing the quarter mile in 19.6 seconds. When you're driving a Honda 600 you do and be proud of it too.
So enough of this get a real car stuff and lets be civil and be together on keeping them all on the road.

Re: z600 AUTOMATIC??????????????
Hi Harry;
Yes both your Coupe and Hondamatic are on the site. And I switched to Netherland rather than Holland. You should know where you live. But can I have all your numbers?
Currently I have AXXX-XXX-XXXX (no eng. nr.) built 8-5-70 and AXXX-XXX-XXXX (no eng. nr.) built 7-6-69,

Re: z600 AUTOMATIC??????????????
Thanks Harry;
Your Hondamatic is really a sharp car. I have one of the later engines, but the one for the chassis AAXXX-XXX-XXXX Engine N600E-5000035 has the double cable shifter system. The shift quadrant is broken, but it is for a Left had car like yours. Only the engine numbers after 5000700 had a single cable shifter system. Are there any of the early shift quadrants in your area?
See attached. part #16 in the picture, part number 51201-580-684 I believe is the correct part number.
