Tires tires tires....
Lemme start with Dunlops..... they seem to be indestructable considering I still have the set that came on the Sedan I bought in 1980! .....and over all these years have only ever seen one other set -
kinda like the vinyl roof me Sedan once sported.
I've been through some XZX Michelins.... which performed well but the rubber always dryrots before the tire wears out.
Bridgestone Silvertown bias plys are close to stock, still available at Coker Tire, and about as expensive as they come. Tubes are required....
Tiny little things barely have 3 1/2" tread width and can be scarey knowing that's what's between you and the road..... and that 18 wheeler!
Then there's the Kuhmos and Yokohamas..... which prompted this writing.
After 10 years on one set of Yokos on Sedan rims, I was ready for new on Coupe rims for showing the car. Well I ended up putting Kuhmos on and running them for a couple months now but finally purchased a new set of Yokos, refinished more Coupe rims and put them on my car just today..... and gotta say....
I'll gladly pay twice as much for a Yoko compared to a Kuhmo!
I wasn't 20' down the driveway before I felt the difference in support and stability. Where the Kuhmos, to me anyway, feel a little twitchy.... the Yokos felt smooth as silk and stick to the road like bubble gum on a hot summer day!
Just my thoughts.... and experience.....
and I'll let ya know what the judges think as I'm entering 2 different car shows this weekend.

Re: Tires tires tires....
Have Yokohamas on my Opel GT and they perform great.
I have an old set of Kuhmos on my Honda rims now, but will upgrade later.
Good luck with the show, take pictures.

I have a Citroen 2cv: (looks like a snail) Roof back soft top: they made this model all over Europe from around 1954 until 1998: Obviously longer than my Honda 600: so don't pat yourself on the back too much... I don't know what a Citroen 1 is...

Re: Tires tires tires....
Hi, Dan.
What size Yokos did you buy? Are you running steel rims or Shelbys?
I've got Shelby rims on my 1971 N600, and I'm thinking about buying a set of Yokohama 165/70 x 10 A008s from Tire Rack ($91 each) to replace the old Avon 145SR10s that were on the car when I bought it 11 years ago. I'm just not sure if the Yoko A008s will fit the rims properly and clear the wells (at stock ride height).
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Tires tires tires....
Paul,
I use stock rims, Coupe and Sedan...... and don't know how the offset may differ from your rims. Standard 10" AOO8 Yokos are about 1/2" wider and taller than the Kuhmo.

There may be different width Shelby
rims, but the sets I have had were all the same width as Honda factory rims. The A008 tires may be to wide.

Thanks, Dan and Bill.
So if the A008 is too wide, which Yokohama tire does fit correcly?

Re: Tires tires....
Thanks, Dan.
So based on your original message (below, bottom of thread), are you saying that you put *A008s* on your car? Your message sounded pretty positive with regard to the Yokohama brand, but you didn't indicate which size tire you used. (That's what I'm trying to figure out.) If you did install A008s, how has the fit worked out for you?
Thanks,
Paul
