Honda suspension Parts?
I have located lots of parts for my coupe. I want to thank the club members who have helped me over the past months, with parts and information. I am starting to get quite a Honda supplier and friend list together.
All Honda 600 owners have found are numbers are few, we will never be supported by big auto parts stores! So we need to work together.
Ball joints & tie rod ends are also something we need to find.
Nothing worse than a car that doesn't handle good, and this Honda should handle like a Go-Kart when it's rebuilt.
I am not going to get into the Honda aftermarket parts business.
Like everyone, I want my coupe rebuilt and some extra parts, but will "try" not to keep all the parts I find to myself.
I only plan on having one Honda 600 Pop orange coupe!

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
Tie rod ends from a 73 Civic look close and are all over ebay - but I've never bit the bullet to find out if they're interchangable. .......and one could surmise the California Honda gurus have already tried !?
And while on the subject of '73, rear wheel cylinders with dual pistions also looks very close!? .....but every Sedan I've ever had has the single piston and the piston itself will NOT interchange with the duallys. .....close..... but no cigar

The 73 Civic front brake pads work fine if you don't mind doing a some grinding.

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
Stock front brake pads are still available, as are rear shoes for the dual piston!
.....single piston shoes...... not so easy!

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
I have not looked at the tie rod ends yet.
Come on Bite the bullet! Or just ask one of the Honda Pro's.
I was talking to another member about off road quads as another source.
The 72 coupe uses the same rear wheel cylinder as the Civic.
You could switch over and use coupe brake parts.

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
I've already been bitten thanks. The short flexible connector brake hose at the rear is 600 specific - 73 and later have different thread pattern :(
And I try not to bother the gurus with redundant questions without doing my due diligence!
Thanks, Dan

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
Hi Dan, sounds like Honda used very little from the 600 on the Civic.
I thought someone found a rear brake hose that works?
We need all members helping to look for parts that will replace our worn out stuff. And like I said before, a way to organize our suppliers.
To be a good Guru, you have to be all Honda knowing and willing to help the less informed owners beneath them!

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
Wow, big business!
Ebay:
"ball joint boot"
"ATV Tie rod ends"
Something has to fit a Honda 600.

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
I'm looking into the possibility of trying Honda Civic ED1 or ED2 engine pistons in the N600. The fact that no mention of this has been commented on as far as I'm aware suggest's it's a No-No.
Has anybody looked into this ? Marshall.

Re: Honda suspension Parts?
I could be be wrong about the 73 brake hose working on the 600 - it may have been a 77 that I tried!? So with that, and any potential savings, I've given in to the fact that Miles can supply the rear hose and Mike O can supply the front.
Shoes from a 73 (B428) !? are exact fit and are readily available but only for dual piston cylinders.
I've also been through an ATV junkyard to compare brake cylinder pistons in hope of finding a match on an available part, but that too turned out to be close enough only for horseshoes ;)
As for the KYB GR2 shocks pt# 343143, they're not listed for the 600, or any other Honda.
But figuring Bill knows they'll work, and further persistence on my part, I was told to look under 70 VW Beetle, 71 Toyota Corolla ....... NO MATCH ! Then was told 73 VW Thing, which I haven't confirmed - but did finally locate the shock searching under 71 Toyota "WAGON" .......and expect delivery any day now.
Yes it's a group effort, or at least should be, but as is life, "the 10% syndrom"...... and the other 90% "let someone else do it".............
speedo, choke, tach and throttle cables ?!
voltage regulators ?!
coil ?
