Paint
Is there any aerosol auto can paint that is close to the pop Orange on the Coupes? Need to do some touch ups.
Thanks again, Kevin Gailey
Thanks again, Kevin Gailey
Re: Paint
I use Tower Paint, who can produce the paint from the pop orange code and provide spray cans or quart cans. I think a 16oz spray can is about $18. Here is the email I sent them in 2003- ask for enamel paint. Email is info@...
. The paint matches perfectly, however the paint on my Coupe is only 10 years old or so. In any event, it should be fine.
---------------------------
I would like to order two (2) spray cans and one (1) touchup bottle of Pop Orange, which is Dupont stock # 37617, Honda Color code YR-12, for my 1971 Honda 600 Coupe.

FYI, here are the color codes http://www.honda600coupe.com/Honda_600_ ... _codes.pdf

Re: Paint
Getting close to paint time on my 1972 Pop Orange coupe.
I want to use a base coat clear coat paint.
The paint shop says they cant cross referance the codes.
Honda YR12, Dupont 37617, Rinshed-Mason 7391
Anyone painted with the new paint?
Any new codes?
Thanks
Lyle

Re: Paint
Hi Lyle;
Miles is right, the body shop will make up the paint to match a panel from an area the sun has not gotten to. Base coat clear coat is the performance package for HVLP systems in use today. And, very few are using solvent based paint systems anymore. The nice thing about the clear coat is that you are cleaning clear and not the color. Much easier to take care of, and the water based paint stays in the can for a much longer time. If the shop is looking for a base color to start with, see if they have the color mix for Omaha Orange and tint a shade lighter to match. Then have them make enough to paint your car, fill a couple of spray cans and a bottle of touch up.

Re: Paint
Hi Bill, I stripped and primed all my removable painted parts.
I might get a paint chip book and see what matches my interior panels.
I am painting the car inside and out so matching is not important, but I want it close to original.
Thanks

Re: Paint
I finally found a paint shop that will match my Pop Orange color, Honda YR12.
FinishMaster is the shop and they used a Limco paint.
I will be using a basecoat/clearcoat type paint. I have used this on all my classic cars. The color matches my inside panels perfect.
