finally speedo

Post by cotton »

Finally got that sucker back in. I was beginning to wonder. I quit it
a half dozen times. Couldn't hardly believe when it slipped in. Took it
for a short spin and everything ok at least for now. I'll give it a longer
faster run tomorrow.
Thank you guys for your help.

GOOD to hear that cotton
I took mine apart twice to grease it and it work for a short time than started to rub on the inside of the cable,  mine was kinked pretty bad and could not straighten it out good enough.  I can use my gps but would like to get that speedo working.   Everything else works now including the radio.  have a darn exhaust leak I have been working on up by the motor but that will have to wait for a while..

I didn't get mine as good as I would have liked but guess I was lucky to
do as good as I did.  I would have to remove the carb to get the cable out to other side of engine so I didn't.  I squirted a good bit of PB Blaster in it and
blew on it as hard as I could to force it to speedo a couple of times.  Hopefully it'll help.  It was quieter when I turned the cable with fingers.
After spending a hundred twenty on exhaust system it sounds loud enough that I'm afraid a cop will nail me in town.  It really racks off.
I don't think that little glass pack had any glass in it.
Wouldn't it be great to be rich enough to fix them up the way we really
like to.  Oh well, great to do what I can.  This is my last project. Just hope    I get to finish it.
Now, I gotta try to get fuel gauge working.
