Anybody here ever heard of swapping out the motor to a bigger one,
like from a crotch rocket? I can think of lots of problems if you
tried to do this, and I know it would kill the restored value, but I
was just wondering...
Swaps to a bigger motorcycle engine?

Would be fun, but the big issues:
Transaxle (how? what? can it handle the HP?) & no reverse (if you want to use it on the street) . . .
Everything else (shifting, EFI or carbs, etc.) can be done. And don't forget the radiator . . .
;-)

A better idea is to get a Honda Life engine/trans setup and bore it to hold
a 600 piston. It's water cooled can support dual carbs and should bolt up?
Never measured one so it's hard to say. Miles, you owned one a while back,
is there a future here?
