rear latch

how do I remove the rear hatch latch? I took out the two bolts and I
am getting resistance and don't want to break it. I need to send it
out for re-keying.

You have to take out the lock cylinder,which is held in by a U
shaped clip.

Hi seawolfrss;
Attached is a page from the parts manual. It shows the parts of the
hatch lock and latch assemblies. As Riceburner has said it is the clip
holding the lock cylinder in place that is resisting your efforts. I have
found two types of clips, one has a right angel lip while the other has the
double spring clip. Both remove the same way.
