Well, after owning my N600 for over 4 years now, I have decided to give it a
paint job (it still has it's original paint).
According to a paint bulletin Bill sent me many years ago, the color appears
to be "Tawny Yellow", though it looks more like a brown caramel to me.
My question: I want to change to a different color, as this color is not at
all attractive. Has anyone ever attempted to change their original color? If
so, how did you overcome all the areas that are painted, like the interior
pieces, under the hood, inside the trunk, etc. Also, the trunk lid seems to be
molded with this color into the plastic.
I saw the sedan that was on ebay last week; it was painted black, which did
not do justice to the car. Small cars are not meant to be dark colors! What
suggestions do other listers have regarding a good color, and are there pics
available of cars in different colors?
On a different note: I went with my son last night to see "2 Fast 2 Furious",
and, of course, we took the 600. The parking lot was filled with all types of
street racers, but none were as unique as the 600, and we got a lot of looks.
As I told one of the young racers there, my Honda was OLD school!

care to paint every nook and cranny. As you will see, It can be done
well. Hope this helps. Also, the one problem I had is that the
paint on the trunk lid wants to bubble. The guy who painted it
probably did not put the right kind of primer on it. So I have to
find another trunk lid, and have it re-painted properly.

I think it's easier to find another car!! On the sedan, the trunk lid
can easily be repainted by sanding and using a plactic primer on
bare spots,and then repainted. riceburner006.

There's another group for 600s? What is the difference? It seems like a
duplication of efforts/resources to support 2 groups for this type of car.
How do I access this info?
Domo, (thanks)

Re: painting the 600
Just to ad my two cents worth;
I have changed the color on several cars. The only way to do it is:
1. take it all apart, Axels to head liner, remove the front
fenders and the wiring harness, engine subframe.....
2. raise it 30 inches off the ground.
3. power wash it and take out all the rust, patch weld and
fiber glass it back into the right condition.
4. complete all the body work and prep it for paint.
5. paint it with the fenders, hood, doors, trunk lid or
hatch and gas tank door off, then hang them and paint them
with the same mix of paint.
In this way you change all the color, not just the parts you
see. And you will never have to make up some excuse because some idiot
can't stop looking for a mistake.
