more on my site now

Post by shadedvirgo »

hi all. Just wanted to say that I finally got my AN600 sedan home on
the 25th of March. Now restoration can procede as planned. For those
of you whom have been watching my website; thanks for visiting, and
my sedan is now shown for the first time there. A carburetor rebuild
is already under way. The interior has been stripped out for cleaning
and new carpets. Also the seats are being redone by myself and the
aide of a singer sewing machine. Take a look at the sedan on my site
and feel free to brouse around the other pics I have posted.
I cranked her over just yesterday. The oil pump is working fine and
the rest of the engine seems to be in good working order. That is the
first time in over ten years that she has turned over. She didn't
fire up due to some faulty wires and a bad set of massively corroded
points. The wires have been fixed and a rebuilt set of points with a
new condensor were already put in today.
Soon as she fires up for a few minutes I'm going to yank the engine
and start the cleaning process on it and the sub-frame will be
sandblasted then repainted.
This has got to be the most tiedious job that I've ever done. Any
tips that you guys may have to offer might be of great assistance.
Speaking of which... I found a small problem with the fill tube on
the gas tank. The ribbed rubber hose that connects the gas tank to
the fill tube is completely rotted out on the bottom. If anyone knows
what to replace it with please let me know. Can't put gas in the tank
if there is a gaping hole in the fill tube. :)

David,Are you talking about the rubber hose that's bad? I'm sure
someone has a good used one or a NOS one? Great Site ! I really
enjoyed it. My sedan is a tawny yellow one also!
