In search of a new starter for my 1972 AN600

Post by forumadmin »

Hi,
Just checking to see if there is another starter that is an exact fit (other than original) that will work in the AN600's.
Thanks

The N/Z starter was made by Hitachi. It is identical to one used by Satsun.... except for one minor detail, the bendix or starter drive. You must use the Honda drive or it wont work on the N600.

Be aware, a number of years ago a parts company said that the Datsun 510 bendex will work, that is false. Like Don said the Honda bendex is the only unit that will work.

16498 Starter - 2 Details actually. Besides the smaller bendix the front housing is different.
I have some new parts and about 20 used starters.
