600 coupe tailgate torsion bar

Hello everyone, The left torsion bar on my Honda 600 Coupe tailgate has popped out. I was wondering how to get this back in. The manual says I need some special tool, does anybody have any tricks of the trade in order to get this to go back in. The tailgate will not stay up by itself anymore. This worked fine yesterday.

I used an old socket.   Works great.
