Yes this is the # 1 thing not just in this car but all engins, Yes every thing goes bad but doing the chain is the best thing for these cars. during this time there is (I Think) 4 diffrent chain types it is
like drive chain and has a # and used in all motorcycles with cam chains
in them and still today. A hard core bullet bike guy will change the chain once a year, when they strech it is bad.
