Re: 1972 AZ600 for sale

Post by Alexander G. Penalosa »

I am selling my 1972 AZ600.  Anyone interested can give me a call at XXX-XXX-XXXX or send email to alex_penalosa@...
.
The car is located in Concord, CA.  Asking $5000.
Good:  Runs great, starts right up, new Kumho tires including spare, 98.5K miles, currently registered with clean CA title, all gauges, overhead console lights, turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, horn, headlights and heater works.  new interior carpets, door panels and headliner, new Inner/Outer CV boot, new Fan Belt, new Front Disc Pads and Rear brake shoes, new Exhaust with Chrome tail pipes from Mel & Sons Mufflers (non-original), new Left/Right brake cylinder, installed new third brake lights, new batteries and cable, new paint, recently adjusted timing, no tears or cuts on upholstery in both front and back seats.
Bad:    Small hole rust in passenger floor (has been fixed), slight chrome pitting in the back fender, non-original radio which has just been installed new but suddenly doesn't work now, slight oil leak, new paint is not original Honda color,  new headliner is not original but I have the original head liner skeleton frame, car keys worked on the doors but not on ignition (previous owner broke the steering wheel ignition key lock and installed a push button underneath the dash for the ignition). overhead console is missing the plastic lens cover on the room lamp.
Photos available on request.
Thanks,
Alex

[2cylinderhondas] Re: brake line bleeder and nut I bought mine at Sears for under $30.00 but here's one that might be better quality avail. at Sears.com for about $40.00. You must use a *double flaring tool* or your lines will leak. Here's the link:
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1260 ... aring+tool And if you but the one from that company that sells the flare nuts it will set you back $369.00 as I recall.

Zay,
That's like going to garage sales and buying up old Craftsman screwdrivers for 50 cents each, then returning them to Sears because they are under warranty, getting new ones then returning them at Christmas time for cash.
I see something on AutoZone for Loan-a-Tool but nothing about returning them. Is it like a deposit? or like you can buy it and keep it kind of thing?

Hey Miles
Nope do not do the garage sale thing, to much work and ya gota pay for em. Me I hit the Snap-On regional headquaters dumpster at about 3:00 AM! (just kidding)
They have this program @ Auto Zone I think it makes you just buy more parts! And they might be diffrent from state to state. I was in Fl. building a show bike with a chevy 350 in it so I had to hit the Auto Zone there it was not quite the same as the ones in S.L.C..
So Here is the link
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/inours ... ent=tubing
Go to Auto Zone dot com or call em, They give you a new flare kit
and the bender in the plastic box and when you are done you take it back! I did it when I stuck a GEO Master Cyl in a 71 AN 8 months ago, was a lot more easy than looking for mine!

Sorry It took so long to respond Memorial weekend is on of the toughest for motorcycle mechanics. I do not know what "GEO" year or model I took to master cylinder from. There was just a line of em at the junk yard ,it was $12.00 thought it could not be to hard.
It was way more difficult to do than was worth doing. It required air grinders, rat tail files, 90 degree air drill to fit it in the fire wall. I had to drill a different actuator hole in the brake lever. Had to braise weld brake line to make it long enough and give it the correct thread pitch to fit M.C. as well as re-flair line ends. Also had to go to go get some adaptors to hook up fluid reservoir
After a lot of hours it fit in good did clear everything, The reservoir looks and worked well. I would NOT RECOMMEND doing this, it took way long, lots of resources, and un-safe grinding-drilling at bad access angle. It is way better to have your M.C. sleeved by "600MILES" Or a brake machine shop and use O.E.M. On the brakes and keep your 600 all 600!
Now I gota ask some thing, has any one done the "Cut & Paste" with
one of these power plants? that would be a GEO in a 600 with cooling system & trans

Then you will need another nut and since they are different than most other cars you will need a used one or one of the repro's from Japan. I can help you with a used one.

Transplant

Post by Miles »

I have a customer with an Austin Mini transplanted in to a sedan. As soon as I can see the car I will get some photos. The problem with putting a Geo in is which wheels/brakes do you use? Then why not just drive a Geo or better yet a Suzuki Swift GT? 4 cyl, 100hp, 4 wheel disc brakes, hollow cams (Twin OHC), Geo body basically, quite the go-er. Ground effects kit - stock. I loved mine, but had to let it go.

Also look into their copper-nickel alloy brake line tubing, claimed to be much easier to work with than conventional steel tubing. Rusted brake lines are dangerous; they can fail at any time, but especially in an emergency when you have to really jump on the brakes.

Re: brake line bleeder and nut

Post by Miles »

Miles quit doing master cylinder rebuilds. No time for extra projects right now, I have 3 engine rebuilds and 2 restorations going. One restore has been here for 14 years, she said take my time but that was back when I was self employed and I had time. The other said take your time - how soon can I get it? !
I am still selling brake parts and will sell a complete master if I have time.
