Street Rod a an600
If someone was to turn a 600 into a street Rod what Frt. wheel drive engine would fit the best. Motorcycle engine or small car. I purchase a car this week and while coming home there was a car show and people was looking at it asking what I was going to do with it. I bought it to complete a car I am working on.

If you plan on driving the car, the best engine for your 600 sedan will be a Honda 600 automobile engine. If you are looking for a show car or one to drive in a parade, then any engine will work. Just be prepared for doing lots of mechanical work, metal rework, and spending lots of money. My favorite is the Honda 600 with the jet engine mounted in the rear section.
Some of your biggest problems will be finding an engine and tranny which will fit, finding something with a comparable weight which will not upset the handling, and having something which can be properly cooled.
You could take a stock 600 sedan and remove the carb, intake manifold, and air cleaner. Go to Hilborn ( http://www.hilborninjection.com/ ) and have them do a custom injection setup (mechanical or electrical.....
mechanical would be the easiest to implement) with multiple inlet stacks.
That would look pretty cool..... a 600 with a cutout in the hood for the injection stacks. Your 600 really would be a 600 "Funny Car". It would be expensive, though.
good luck,
Dale

A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.> If someone was to turn a 600 into a street Rod what Frt. wheel drive > engine would fit the best. Motorcycle engine or small car. Re: Street Rod a an600
I met a guy at a show & swap meet last year who is street rodding a 600 Coupe. He had some pictures of his work with him. His project has a custom made full frame with narrowed rear end, mustang II front end and a 4.3L V-6 & automatic from a Chevy Astro mini-van. The 600 body was tubed out and channeled making it set down on the frame. Everything was running, the racing seats and roll bar had been installed. The interior was not finished and it was still missing the front end. He was waiting on someone to build the front clip with custom made front fenders and hood because of the additional length for the motor & radiator. He is hinging the entire front clip at the front so it will be out of the way to work on the motor and to hide the braces necessary to support the sheet metal. I lost his contact info and hope to see him again this year at the same show to see how he is doing. I told him about this site so hopefully he will see this message and respond with his progress. The only thing that will be orginial Honda 600 when he is completed will be what's left of the body. He's setting it up to be a two seater with the back seat area filled with a high powered sound system. I bet he'll have a lot of money in it but it will make an awesome (and scary) street rod.
