turn signals not working

Post by jmistche »

Hi all,
I am trying to get my 71 AN600 safer and more legal and so I am trying
to get the turn signals to work. When I push the switch up or down, it
stays in that position but I get no "clicking" or turn signals
blinking. Is there a "flasher" (black cube thingy) that controls the
blinking? I can't find much info on this even in the shop manual. Any
ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks as always,
Jon

Jon;
It could be the flasher, but I would pull all the bulbs and clean everything.  Really, everything and check the ground.

It's the hazard switch that is dirty. All the connections for the
brake/turn lights go through the Hazard Switch. Take it apart and clean
it. I can send you a photo of it if you email me off group:

Hey Bill,
     Just to clarify...... you're addressing 600 owners (that sold or transfered ownership), and those of us that own (and wouldn't part with) need not apply .....or reply !?
      I understand the NADA value concept, and have seen open market values increase as of late, but seems to me the real value is in the hands of owners that keep these puppies on the road.
      .....just a thought.... and thanks for your diligence,
Dan

Dan;
Yep, I have had several people ask and offer much more than I feel mine is worth and I have turned them down or raised the asking price to much more than they were willing to spend.   But, the value guides are just that, guides and help the owner to keep things clear when completing their restorations.  It also gives insurance companies something to go by and you to set a price on replacement value.  So, to answer your question, this is the change of hands type of issue.  We need this to keep our hobby running.
