weatherstripping
My 72 sedan is just about ready to hit the road after several
thousand dollars of restoration work. Unfortunately all of the
weatherstripping including both doors, windows and trunk are toast.
The front and rear windows are fine. What is the best substitute for
the oem? I have looked at some stuff in the McMaster-Carr catalog
that is designed to go over pinch welds like we have on the doors and
windows. Anybody try this? Other alternatives? Thanks.

Re: weatherstripping
Hi Neal;
J.C. Whitney has a pinch/bulb type weather strip for about $35.00 to do
both doors that I like to use. It's in a diamond or what they call a 1/2
bulb type of weather strip.
See attached.

Re: weatherstripping
Bill,
I am looking at the Whitney catalog for Coupe door weatherstrip. Is this the page to find it?
http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml? ... 5531&BQ=tt
Which one is correct? Do you have a part number?

Re: weatherstripping
Really. I looked in the online catalog and it looks like a lot of
them could work for the doors, windows and trunk. What would be the
part number for each of these applications? I don't want to order
the wrong thing.
Regards, Neil

Tom T. and All
Some one else showed me the "diamond" shaped seal and it is very thick. It seems that the manufacturer ran out of the weather strip I was purchasing and has changed the way this weather strip is being made.
Open

Re: weatherstripping
Tom, I used the ZX132561U and it's easy to put on and works good. I have to slam the door a little harder than with the old collapsed trim. I didn't worry about the bottom as it was usable. It might be tricky down there, price was $34.99 I believe.
