Hey everybody,
Just a reminder that this Sunday May 18 is Friendship Day! For the
uninitiated, Friendship Day is a terrific car/truck/military vehicle
gathering sponsored by the Mid Peninsula Old Time Auto Club and held
in the parking lot at Foothill College in Los Altos. This large
gathering brings together several hundred vehicles of all types and
descriptions; rods & customs, muscle cars, classics, antiques, brass
era, pre war, post war, foreign and domestic, big, small and in
between. Quite literally, there is something for everybody. While
this isn't an Official Arcane Event, there is always a strong Arcane
presence there. I'll try to get there early with the club banner and
see if I can hog several spaces for us, so look for the blue on white
Arcane banner. The cost is just ten bucks per car and spectators are
free. If you get there early enough, you can partake in the free
coffee and donuts that have historically been provided to early
arrivals. Better than decent hamburgers, hot dogs, Polish, drinks
and chips are sold at the food stand, but you can also bring your own
picnic lunch if you like. But do plan to get there early, as people
don't hang around all day.
Directions: From the north or south, take Highway 280 to Los Altos.
Take the El Monte turnoff west. Immediately west of the highway, bear
right into the Foothill College parking lot. Turn right at the stop
sign at the bottom of the entrance road and circle the college to get
to the show lot.
