weatherstripping for doors

Post by GRINDKILL »

I have been searching for an aftermarket weatherstriping for my 600
sedan. I have heard all the stories of having to adjust the doors,
or having to (slam) them shut, and this was not what I wanted. A
company called CMK , trim products of florida, sells a (j) type
weatherstripping that works. 20 ft for 40 bucks, more than enought
to do both door jambs. The trick after installation is to take a
razor blade, and slice on the inside edge of the foam rubber bubble.
after this is done, the door shuts like original without any
adjustment, and the weatherstripping looks great. You will not see
the cut when doors are open. This makes a great looking door seal.
The part number is S0200-(windlace snap-on w/bulb). Their phone
number is 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX, or website www.cmktrim.com. Hope this
helps anyone who needs new door weather stripping. much better that
jc whitney, and really cheap in price.

Nick,
Sounds great. Any chance you can take a picture showing where and how you
cut the weatherstrip and attach the photo to an email to the group?
