I have successfully lowered a coupe doing as Miles says for the rear,
and I cut 2 inches off the front strut spring and put them back on.
Then I used the shocks from a 1971 VW bug front end (must be the type
that uses ball joints) and although the shock fits, you must flatten
the spot welded seam (you will see it, the shock will hit it when you
try to install it). Then I ground off about 1/4 inch to each side of
the lower end, yes into the rubber, or although the shock will fit
the lower end shaft, it is a bit too wide. Use all the Honda
attaching nuts and washers on the bottom and the rubber and nuts
provided with the shocks on the other end.
Two things will be very apparent when you go over your first bump, if
you have false teeth you will jar them out, because the back end is
now so stiff that for a while at least it will feel like there are no
springs on the back end. But after a few weeks they start to wear in
and your teeth will stay in. Second is that there is some loss of
spring in the front, but the over all stability was retained because
of the very stiff rear end. E-mail me if you want a picture of it.

Lowering a Coupe
I thought I read somewhere online that parts of a sedan suspension could be used to lower a coupe. Do you swap the strut/shock assembly, or the knuckles?
(I did a search and was only able to find the one about cutting springs and using shocks from a VW.)
Thanks!
