The 1973 Honda CVCC Civic. I remember it well. I bought a brand new one (burnt orange, I think the color was) in Indianapolis and traded in my used N600 for it. Went from the CVCC to the larger Accord two-door hatchback. Now I own Mom s 2005 four-door Civic and two 1970 Honda N600 sedans.

I don't think the CVCC was available as an option until 1975. I had a 1974 Civic with the 1237 cc engine. Here is a link to a wikipedia article:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Civic_(first_generation)

The Civic 1200 arrived in 1973 and continued on thru 1979. (The 1200 was not sold in California after 74.). The Civic 1500 was introduced in 1975 and was offered thru 1979. The 1600cc CVCC Accord was offered from 76- 78. Hope this helps

Don and Chuck, I am over 60 and it has been more than three minutes since I had that car. I know it was a CVCC that I bought, and without looking in my files I can t confirm the year. I thought it was a 73, but I may have owned my 600 longer than I thought before trading up. I lived in Indiana from Jan. 72 through Dec. 75. I guess after trading in my first car, an old Renault 16 for the 600, I may actually have gotten the CVCC in 75 because I did have it while I lived in Wisconsin.

Re: Jeopardy! Boo boo
I remember the CVCC wasn't available in '74 when I bought my brown Civic hatchback at Hejal Oldsmobile in Villa Park, Illinois. It had an M radio and a brown vinyl top. I paid $2130 for it after about an hour of negotiations. I put over 80000 miles on that little car which ran great, but the bottom door seams rusted terribly.
