Are there LED replacement tail lights and turn singles for our Honda

Post by Chuck Dean »

Are there LED replacement tail lights and turn singles for our Hondas?
Hello everyone,
Does anyone manufacture led replacement bulbs for the tail lights and turn signals bulbs?
I was noticing how much dimmer my Honda was compared to modern cars, and was hoping to brighten it up a little.
I did a quick search on Google, but nothing showed up.
Thanks,

Just google search for the model of the bulb like 1004 or whatever the number is and LED. I'm sure you'll find something

I think you need an LED flasher relay also, for the turn signal and hazard. It may not come out as expected, good luck.

Both are correct. You should be able to take the number from the bulbs currently in use on your Honda to any parts supply store and obtain a bulb that will fit. HOWEVER, you will also need to replace your mechanical flasher with an electronic one designed to operate LEDs. Most auto parts stores carry both and they are normally a stock item. I replaced the ones in my 66 Chevy on the first trip to NAPA. They definitely are much brighter and they draw less amperage. Cost is minimal especially since you will probably never need to replace them again. These are some of the few things for our cars that you do not have to hunt the internet for. Good idea, I'm going to change the ones in my 600 before next car show season.
Most people don't realize that standard bulbs often fade over time before they completely blow out. Ever notice that once a single bulb goes out, you change a battery or alternator/generator on an older car, bulbs start to go? That's because a few more amps get into the lighting circuit and the old bulbs can't handle it. LEDs don't have that problem.
