High-performance Camshaft

Hi Guys,
 I have a high-performance Camshaft it might be one of the Hawaiian cars camshaft just looking for peoples opinion on whether I should install that in my car, I wouldn't be changing the heads,  or the carburetion or the exhaust, just the Camshaft. Would  the engine still perform relatively smooth but just have a little bit more power that's my question?

I would compare the cam with a stock cam, physically. Does it have more lift and or duration. Cams open the valves more or for a longer time to let more fuel/air in. So if it is doing anything it would need more fuel and air. Now if your engine presently always runs rich than a greater lift and duration might smooth things out. If the car is already lean than things could go bad.� Put the cam in. You can always drill out jets. You might need to have a less restrictive air and exhaust as well.
Don't forget matching valve springs if the cam is very different.
Or you could do what I did for a/f and timing. Build an EFI system with a Megasquirt ECU and Suzuki G10 throttle body. Lots of fun and didn't improve a thing.
